ABOUT THE CLUB

The spring of 2020 was a wild time. The COVID-19 virus emerged, the stock market plummeted, Prince Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals, and Moroni lost his grip on the golden trumpet when a 5.7 magnitude earthquake hit Salt Lake City. From the depths of despair, ABC was born.

The world was in flux, but one thing we could do safely was get outside and ride bicycles. Initially, it was just a couple of buddies riding together on Thursday nights trying to beat their PRs. While improving fitness was a priority, so too were the après-festivities.

What started with just a couple of riding buddies has grown to an entire community who all share a common passion— a love for cycling. We welcome all those who share that same enthusiasm to come out for an ABC ride soon.

THURSDAY NIGHTS:
BIKES + BEER

We typically roll on Thursday evenings whenever it’s warm and light enough for after-work rides. City Creek Canyon is our home court, but as the days get longer we branch out — both in terms of geography and road surface. We’re predominately a road club but still ride plenty of gravel and single-track too.

Afterwards, it’s not uncommon for a some post-ride drinks and snacks, namely beer, Pizza Bagels, mini-corndogs, and if you’re lucky, a grill full of glizzies.

Our Sponsors

RoHa Brewing Project

What’s a bike club without a beer sponsor? Based in Salt Lake City, RoHa is a proud supporter of ABC. The RoHa crew loves beer, the outdoors, and bikes. They have a wide selection of crushable grocery-store-strength beers, high-point brews, and a rotating assortment of taproom-only drafts. Naturally, our personal favorite is the Thursday IPA.

Taproom:
30 Kensington Ave, Salt Lake City, UT 84115

Little City

Little City creates small, temporary urban developments with the goal of incubating larger, permanent, great urban places. Better yet, they host beer gardens out of a shipping container bar. Yes, in Utah. Located in Salt Lake City’s Granary District, Little City hosts pop-up beer gardens, concerts, festivals, and small events.

Address:
349 West 700 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84101

Y Design

Y Design is a Avenues-based graphic design firm specializing in branding, web, and print design.

Giordana

While not techically a sponsor, ABC rides exclusively in Giordana custom cycling apparel (designed by Y Design).

Party Shirt International

Again, not actually a sponsor, but the PSI team makes the unofficial casual-wear gear for us, including a custom ABC Party Shirt complete with blocks, cheetahs, and Pizza Bagels.
